A Letter From Our New Principal

We are now in week #2 of our journey in Alaska, still swimming in a sea of boxes, but are starting to see some ground clearance in many of the rooms. Handsome came home late Friday night after a week in rural Alaska, and we are all happy to be together again. E1 is in a new school after the first one just wasn't the right "fit" for him. He's very happy in his new class and his teacher reminds us a lot of his teacher from last year. On that note, I received a very interesting letter from his principal yesterday and thought I'd share it with you:

Dear Families,
Numerous sightings of a black bear in H Park and the surrounding area have been reported. As a result, I have been in contact with Fish & Game and their biologists are investigating. The hope is to identify a removable source (food, perhaps) that is keeping the bear in the area.
Until we can be assured that the bear is no longer a safety concern, I strongly discourage students from using H Park as a walking or biking route to and/or from school. In the interim, a staff person will be monitoring the north entrance to the park from our campus before and after school.
Sincerely,
The School Principal

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we are no longer in Florida!
